Went there with friends for lunch and to chat about some topics. There was a man who appeared to be the owner was extremely hospitable. Food tasted great and matched its price point. Solid 5. The owner refilled our tea and cleaned up our table and said we can continue conversations freely. Honestly outstanding service and good impression of this place. The atmosphere was decent although it's location was beside T&T which is slightly hard to find at first. Overall an establishment worthy of 5 star review and return.

One of the best restaurants in Surrey. Whether it's the Hainan chicken at Malaysian Hut, the Dal at Tandoori Flame, or the Nigiri at Taka's Sushi, Lao Cai's hand pulled noodles rivals the best in Surrey's diverse foodscape. Honestly, when you see a restaurant full with price-conscious - "aah, I can cook that at home cheaper and better" people, who just did their grocery shopping at T&T, you know somethings up. We're honestly lucky to have this in our backyard. Fight the nightmare of a parking lot, it's worth it.

You can tell everything is homemade. And attention to detail to the food is amazing. The pork shrimp chive dumpling has so much filling and extra large shrimp inside. The noodles are handmade and super chewy and flavorful. Will definitely come back again!

I used to go to the restaurant that was here before, so I was curious to check out the new place. They completely renovated the space, and the vibe is really cozy and inviting definitely a nice upgrade. Right after we sat down, they brought us complimentary Peach Oolong tea, which was super refreshing. They also gave us a little potato salad before the food came out, which was a nice surprise. I ordered the trio noodle soup, and the broth was packed with flavor. They had their own homemade chili oil on the side, and once I added that, it brought the whole thing to another level. The noodles are made in house too, and you can really tell they were fresh and had a great texture. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and overall, it was just a great experience. I’ll definitely be coming again!

This restaurant is so good that I went here twice in a week (dine in and takeout)! Lao Cai's beef noodle soup contains hand pulled noodles, tender beef brisket, and flavourful broth. The lamb soup is also delicious! The owner is so sweet. He is very attentive and you can tell he is so proud of his restaurant.

Great service and amazing food! Very authentic Chinese -Xi’an cuisine. The food is so wholesome. Perfect for any cold/rainy day. Love the decor and vibe too. Definitely 10/10!

Love this place! The noodles are super fresh and chewy, and the beef noodle soup is amazing—rich broth and tender meat. Prices are really good for the portion size, and the food always comes out fast. It’s not fancy inside, but it feels cozy, and the staff are friendly. Definitely one of my go-to spots when I’m craving noodles.

Excellent food and the service isn’t bad. The tea that they serve is also very fragrant and it keeps on making me come back! My must orders are the liang pi (with or without sesame sauce) and the sour & spicy noodle soup (if you like briny flavours). Their cumin lamb noodles are also good but very rich so I would share it with someone! They also had a seasonal item - saliva chicken, if you see it and like spicy food- try it! The tomato and egg noodles were okay, more homestyle and light compared to the cumin lamb. Passes for me are the pork burgers (would rather get liang pi) and the sweet and sour ribs (still good but too sweet for me).
